New partner for Everlina Deutschland GmbH

WOG Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft Raiffeisen eG is the new contractual partner of Evelina Deutschland GmbH since June 10, 2015. With the cooperation, the Evelina-project is expanding, and is strengthened by the two largest producer organisations of the Bodensee region – Marktgemeinschaft Bodenseeobst eG and WOG Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft. The Bodenseee is among the most important apple-cultivation areas of Germany.

Evelina, still a young species, has been planted in Germany since 2007 and is one of the most richly yielding Club-species from Germany with up to 70 tons harvested per hectare in 2014. Together with the Marktgemeinschaft Bodenseeobst (MaBo) and the Württembergischen Obstgenossenschaft (WOG), the Evelina-apple is now more strongly integrated in a prime location around the lake, with controlled cultivation, and gently harvested. The regional contractual marketers Salem Frucht Großmarkt GmbH and Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH are combining their know-how, and are marketing the club-variety across Germany in the food retail trade.

“The Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft and the Marktgemeinschaft Bodensee are a great gain for our network”, exclaims Katja Börnicke, managing director of Evelina Deutschland GmbH.

The first plantings at the Bodensee (Lake Constance) took place in spring 2015 on the cultivation fields of MaBo and were the cornerstone for a qualitatively valuable cultivation structure. The Württembergische Obstgemeinschaft followed this stage in the Evelina-club in June of this year. The WOG has been a recognized cultivation organisation for over ten years, which supports around 600 further members beside Evelina Deutschland GmbH with up to 2,700 hectares of pipfruit gathering fields. For example, in cooperation with its contractual marketers, the Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft is the largest supplier of German table pipfruit for the food retail trade. Environment growing techniques and the preservation of the diversity of species are given high priority by qualified employees.

“Location Bodensee is enhanced by the new cooperation with broker Evelina Deutschland and the accompanying partners”, Jürgen Nüssle, managing director of the Wurttembergischen Obstgenossenschaft explains.
