"The campaign was good. Instead of posing a problem, the Russian ban favoured us because almost all of the Israeli produce went there. Only around fifty containers arrived here, although weirdly there is no Israeli produce on the shelves, so we have reported the fact to the Ministry for Agricultural Policies and the Fraud prevention institute."
"In addition, the disastrous 2014 campaign led to a drop in cultivated areas all over Europe - -15% in Italy and -25% in Spain. Despite the rain between January and March though, the quality of our produce was excellent."
"What is more, due to the abundant rain, the produce was stored wet in Germany, Netherlands and Greece, leading to big shelf-life problems. Once stocks finished, everyone looked for our new carrots, so prices were good."
"The quality and flavour of Sicilian carrots is excellent, so much so that Northern and Eastern European countries and Germany were willing to pay a bit more for them."
