Cuna de Platero promotes berry consumption with new campaign

In an event held at the Public School Zenobia Camprubí de Moguer, Cuna de Platero S.C.A. has presented the information campaign FRESAYUNANDO (play on words with the Spanish for strawberry and breakfast), which aims to promote the consumption of strawberries and other berries (important for the province in economic terms) amongst children.

Elementary school children of Zenobia Camprubí during the first Fresayunando healthy breakfast.

"The campaign consists in providing elementary school and kindergarten children with a healthy breakfast consisting of strawberries and blueberries. While they eat breakfast and taste the fruits, the children will work with their teachers on the teaching unit designed by Cuna de Platero to make them aware of all the healthy properties of strawberries and other berries: blueberries, raspberries and blackberries," stated Ela Daher, export trader at Cuna de Platero, during the presentation.

In this way, children will learn in a practical way about the importance of eating fruit, because "it is very important to convey in a fun way how essential fruit is in a balanced diet," highlighted Antonio Ladrero, doctor of the school's educational guidance team, who also stressed that children should be able to recognise fruits by colour, to understand that all of them must be included in their diet, "making it is essential to combine red berries with yellow, green, etc."

Rafael Cruzado, headmaster of Zenobia Camprubí School, appreciated the educational value of such informative workshops, since integrating fruit in one's diet is essential and one of the best ways to do this is by tasting it in combination with some engaging and colourful educational materials.

With the launch of this information campaign, Cuna de Platero confirms its commitment to helping teach children about the benefits of strawberries and berries and the importance of a balanced diet, as promoting fruit consumption amongst children will serve to boost healthy eating habits amongst the consumers of today and tomorrow.
