Production is expected to increase by 20% with respect to last year, as withering was good.

Orchidea Frutta collects cherries from 500 producers. The fruit is partially selected on the field, then the company chills the produce using the "hyro-cooling" technique, grades, sorts, stocks and ships it.

"Usually, we sell 30-40% of our production abroad, mainly to Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany and the rest is sold on the domestic market."

Usually Orchidea Frutta processes 3,500 tons a year, half of which are of the Ferrovia variety.

The company also deals with stonefruit such as peaches and nectarines with a yearly growth of 15-20%.
"We have also been distributing apricots in the last five years."
The company's R&D department studied a new packaging especially for this type of fruit.
