Cameroon: Exporter expects over 170,000 ton production

The company Plantations du Haut Penja (PHP), a subsidiary in Cameroon of French fruit group Compagnie Fruitière in Marseille, expect to reach a 170,000 ton production in 2015. This is an over 13,000 ton increase compared to the 157,000 tons produced in 2014.

PHP, market leader in banana production in Cameroon with just over half of quantity produced nationally, mainly exports their bananas to the EU, but also to African countries such as Morocco, Chad and Nigeria.

In addition to their 3,000 hectares in the Moungo region, PHP are currently expanding and creating an 800 hectare banana plantation in Dehane, South Cameroon.
