Fresh Business Expo 2015, 1-3 December in Ukraine
"I believe the worst has already passed for Ukraine"
This year, the exhibition Fresh Business Expo will be held in Ukraine between 1 and 3 December. According to organiser Kuno Jacobs, of Nova Exhibitions, there already appears to be interest in the fair. He organises three other agro-fairs. "We have just started promoting the event. Companies can already sign up to participate at www.freshbusinessexpo.com.
Despite difficult times
Ukraine's Fresh Business Expo is an exhibition focused on the international fruit and vegetable sector. "The fair is taking place in a country which has already been in a situation of unrest for some time, so we can see that companies are being cautious. Personally, I regularly visit Ukraine, so I see the developments. Economically, Ukraine has experienced difficult times, but the agriculture and horticulture sectors have remained fairly stable. I am convinced that the worst has already passed and that the economy will pick up again. Ukraine has great potential, so now might be the right time to step in!"
Lower imports The figures don't lie. "Ukrainian imports have fallen sharply in the last year, by more than 40% in some cases. The country has nearly 45 million inhabitants. Food remains an essential product and I believe that the country is going to grow again. The only question is when? In my opinion, it is good to remain present, even through difficult times. I am consciously choosing to organise this exhibition in Ukraine now because I trust it is the right thing to do. Even in these times, you have to keep sowing to be the first to benefit from growth!"
