Bruyn International files for bankruptcy

Tholen - Bruyn International, of Heerhugowaard, has gone bankrupt. In 2013, it had already gone through a reorganisation. Cees Bruyn says that the company itself has filed for bankruptcy as a result of market struggles. "The chains are becoming shorter and intermediaries like us are becoming dispensable."

Bruyn International, founded in 1999, had specialised in the import, export and re-export of citrus, mainly for the processing sector. The company imported citrus from Greece, Egypt, Spain and Morocco and from other countries during the European off-season.
