EnduroPouch gets thinner
“The same principles apply to our new product,” said Grant Ferguson. “It still has a double-reinforced handle that reduces instances of broken handles, which consumers don't like; it still has a slide zipper, which is easier for consumers and provides faster packing speeds to grower over traditional press-to-close styles; so it has all the benefits of the original EnduroPouch.” The only difference is that it now comes in a thickness of 1.6 mil/ 41 microns . That's a reduction of 20 percent from the original EnduroPouch, which was formerly the thinnest available pouch.
“All types of produce commodities are can be packed in this technology. By using the EnduroPouch™ 1.6, customers have reduced required packaging materials by up to 40% over traditional thin pouches, which means serious savings” said Ferguson. Longo's, a growing chain of grocery stores in Canada, has even taken the step of informing their customers of the environmental benefits they've achieved by adopting the EnduroPouch™ 1.6 in their stores. Chantler Packaging will unveil the new pouch at the upcoming CPMA trade show in Montreal.
“This is the next evolution of the EnduroPouch,” said Ferguson. “It has the same benefits, but it's more cost-effective and more environmentally friendly.”
