Only 6 weeks until ICHCA Technical Seminar

Only 6 weeks until ICHCA's Technical Seminar, 'Container Operations and the Ship/Port Interface: Challenges and Developments' and 3rd CTU Packing Roadshow which begins in Durban, South Africa, running from Tuesday 19 - Thursday 21 May 2015.

Improving the safety and productivity of container operations is a truly cross-party issue. Ship designers, owners and financiers, classification societies and insurers, container designers and owners, ocean carriers, port and terminal operators, stevedores and lashers, equipment and technology suppliers and legislators all have a stake.

In order to address this important issue, ICHCA and the South African Maritime Safety Authority will be hosting a two-day educational event on what the industry can do to reduce the risks and inefficiencies associated with container operations at the ship/port interface.

Attendees can also take part in a tour of the Port of Durban and join us for a Cocktail Party on Day 1.

As part of our 'Pack It In!' campaign for the safe packing and securing of CTUs, ICHCA and the Responsible Packing Management Association of South Africa (RPMASA) will be hosting a 3rd CTU Packing Roadshow to offer a practical education on the new IMO/ILO/UNECE Code of Practice for the Packing of CTUs.

Extensively revised and upgraded from the original 1997 CTU Packing Guidelines, the new Code, developed in consultation with ICHCA International, has implications for everyone involved in CTU logistics.
