specializes in customs formalities for fresh produce sector

KGH Customs Services takes over Gee's Customs Solutions

KGH Customs Services has taken over Gee's Customs Solutions (GCS) in the Netherlands, thus strengthening its position as an independent partner for fulfilling customs formalities in Europe. GCS is a logistics service provider, specializing in customs formalities for the fresh produce sector, located in Barendrecht in the Netherlands. After the takeover, KGH has more than 650 employees in 11 countries.

The takeover of GCS follows recent KGH expansions in France, Italy and the Czech Republic. It is part of its long-term strategy of developing a full, pan-European customs company capable of offering comprehensive customs services in all the main European countries, with the Netherlands being considered an import centre for customs services in Europe.

GCS was founded on January 1, 2004, by G.T. Huigen and G. Eiting, and soon became an important player on the Dutch customs market. GCS mainly operates in the niche market of processing fresh produce, mainly fruit and vegetables. In this market, high service and quality towards the customers is of the utmost importance.

"With the acquisition of GCS, we will further strengthen our services to our European customers," says Vidar Gundersen, CEO of KGH. "We are especially pleased that the current management and staff of GCS still will be highly involved in the day to day handling of the documentation for clients. G.T. Huigen and G. Eiting, with their long term customs expertise and experience in especially the perishable industry, will continue their work in the company."

"We are very excited about joining KGH," say G.T. Huigen and G. Eiting, founders and owners of GCS. "We look forward to supporting KGH's European customers and with our long term experience in the Dutch customs perishable industry we are confident that we can provide them with a great service. At GCS we have also developed innovative customs services for the perishable industry that are ready to be launched into the key European markets and with the KGH network, we have the opportunity to make this possible."
