The first bananas from Ecuador arrived on the MSC cargo line during the sixth week of 2015 and the entire port proved very efficient also thanks to the cooperation of the public bodies involved (Agecontrol and Customs Agency).
In only 24 hours from the arrival of the ship, the goods were unloaded, checked by the experts, placed in the units, seen by the control bodies, weighted, cleared and prepared to be loaded on trucks.
This proved that, in order to be efficient, the cargo storage area must be considered as an extension of the dock and goods must be processed very quickly.
Clerici Logistics commented by saying "for what concerns the goods we usually handle, the change in processing means we will no longer need facilities on the docks but rather in cargo storage areas functional for container terminals. All ports should have such structures, and that is what we want to achieve."
