In week 12 on the wholesale market in Frankfurt green papayas from Thailand could be found. A trader in exotic fruits had them available. They are also sometimes called 'papaya salad' or 'vegetable papaya'. The papaya is green on the outside and white on the inside. They were wrapped in foil and sold in 5 kilo boxes with a capacity of 9 or 10 pieces each, for the price of 38 Euro. In Thailand the unripe fruit is used as a vegetable for curry's or as an ingredient in Thailand's national 'Som Tam' dish.
They taste good and they are good for you, full of vitamins. Experts say that green papaya purifies the whole body.
