Largest rooftop greenhouse in Switzerland being built

As of spring 2015 the Swiss company 'ecco-jäger Früchte und Gemüse AG' is growing and breeding fresh fish, lettuce and herbs on the roof of their own company building, reports the German website Gabot.de. The 1,000 m2 greenhouse on the roof is ready and the 200 m2 aquaponic is being installed at the moment. This is one story lower and its nutrient rich water will later take care of the plants in the greenhouse.

The complete cooling technique is also being reviewed. This means it is now possible to heat the entire company building including greenhouse and fish basin with the waste heat from the cooling and freezing cells.
