Last Saturday, Frukar celebrated its 25th anniversary in its own location at the trade centre in Barendrecht. Around 450 suppliers, clients and other relations from at home and abroad were present to celebrate this with a snack and a drink.

Managing Director Maria Cobas Vázquez emphasized the team effort. "This company has grown by staying small. In 1990, under Jan Karseboom's management, we grew from a staff of three to the 21-employee team we have today. What once started with a complete citrus range from Spain, apples from France and Italian vegetables, has now grown into an unlimited range of fruit and vegetables from all over the world."
"Frukar is a company that was partly founded on willpower and perseverance on Jan's and my part, but our business relations back then also didn't begrudge us anything. Even when we suddenly lost Jan in 2001, we felt encouraged by those same relations, and again willpower and perseverance were a guideline for our team to continue the company with a story of its own," Maria says.

Commercial Director Willem Koole briefly looked back on the company's history at the open day. "In 1990, Jan Karseboom began Frukar, which was then still located in De Lier. In 2001, as a team we continued Frukar with his motto 'deliver what you promise', and are planning to do this for many years to come. On behalf of the entire Frukar team, we thank you for the faith you put in us the past 25 years, and we hope you will continue to do so in the years to come."
