Dennis-Jan van der Mey:

"Good demand first German spring onions"

The mild winter has caused an early start to the German spring onion season. Van der Mey-Barendrecht has collected the first truck this weekend, and Dennis-Jan van der Mey is enthusiastic about the quality. "After the frost, slimy onions may emerge from underneath the plastic, but that isn't the case now."

"German spring onions are among the first products coming from the cold soil, so we are terribly early. But most people are really looking forward to something new, getting hungry for it. So this morning, sales were going well," Dennis-Jan says. "The spring onions are still rather short, but they will increase in length in the coming period. Starting today, we will now get them from Germany daily."

Of course the German spring onions are available through the website www.agf-online.nl
