ACB Solutions develops weighing machine

ACB Solutions has developed various innovative products over the years and put them on the market. They try to turn the customer demand into innovative machines that eventually profit the customers in terms of time, labour and money. Albert Vermeulen, Commerical Director: "We talk to the customers, map out what the problem is or what result they expect and then find a fitting solution."

ACB developed a high speed mushroom weighing line for a large mushroom packager, for mushrooms that had already been harvested in the well known blue tubs. Vermeulen: "The customer set a number of demands beforehand that the machine had to meet. Think productivity, product friendliness, user friendliness and the possibility of integrating the machine into the full packaging line. We started developing with this package of demands and this is how we developed the new packaging machine, PM 2015."

The machine divides the tubs into three weight categories: good, low and high. When classified as 'good' the product goes straight to the packaging machine. If the weight isn't right, the product is transported to a separate line. Here a production worker adjusts it to the correct weight, after which the tub goes straight to the packaging machine. The wide variety of uses for the machine show that it works. Besides mushrooms, the machine is also suitable for soft fruit products like grapes or strawberries and the organisation is even in talks with a large player in the area of bacon. "Our developers supply the best made to size solutions, but sometimes a made to size solution turns out to be widely usable and we can then also offer other customers a suitable solution with it. Win-win!" concludes Vermeulen.
