Good start Vietnamese fruit exports 2015

Vietnamese fruit exports have been exceptional since the start of the year. According to the Plant Protection Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Development, in January and February 945 tons of dragon fruit, rambutan, longan and mango were exported to Japan, the USA, South Korea and New Zealand.

Pitaya makes up 80% of exports, mainly to the USA which consumes 450 tons of the fruit, ahead of Japan and the Republic of Korea. Vietnam, also exported 46.8 tons of mangoes South Korea, i.e. the equivalent of the whole year in 2014.

Recently the USA authorised imports of Vietnamese mangoes, as did Australia. Japan is expected to authorise mango imports too this year.
