First shipment avocados from Kenya to Hong Kong

Terra Exports, a global fresh fruit sourcing company, shipped the first container of Kenya Hass avocados to Hong Kong in June of 2014, opening a new market for growers in Kenya. The Hong Kong market responded positively from both the high quality and comparatively lower pricing than other major competitors in the avocado market.

With momentum from a successful launch, Terra exports has implemented a program of weekly shipments of Hass avocados from Kenya to Hong Kong for the entire 2015 season, running from January through June. The company expects to see volume significantly increase as the market continues embracing this fruit, and plans to expand Kenyan shipments to new markets in China, Southeast Asia, and other global markets.
