German households spent less money on vegetables

German private households bought around 2% more fresh vegetables in 2014 compared to 2013, reports the German grarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website. The lower prices stimulated this. The larger sales amounts were unable to compensate for the lower prices however, resulting in the expenditure of vegetables in 2014 to be slightly lower than in the year before. Most money was spent on tomatoes, peppers and asparagus.
