UK: Morrisons announces Bos Bros closure

In a statement recently released to the Media by Morrisons, Catherine Walker, Corporate Communications Adviser, confirmed the closure of their Bos Bros Site:

"Since we acquired Bos Bros over a decade ago, Morrisons has built the UK’s second largest fresh food manufacturing business that includes abattoirs, pack houses and processing facilities. Over time, our supply chain model has changed dramatically and the Bos Bros site is no longer strategic, and sits outside the direct sourcing model that we now operate. Therefore, last September we announced a proposal to close the site and following a period of consultation with the Works Council there, and agreement on the Social Plan, are now confirming its closure. We will continue to support our colleagues and assist them to find alternative employment. Production operations at the site are expected to stop at the end of May.”
