Potato addict loses weight

A woman so addicted to potatoes she scoffed half-a-tonne in a year, fought off her fluffy white vice to shed a huge 13 stone.

Whether it was chips, roasties, mash or a jacket potato oozing with butter, Trisha Corbett just couldn't get enough.

But after the 26-year-old's weight soared to a massive 26st 11lbs, size 30 Trisha decided to ditch the spuds once and for all.

Now the trainee teacher has lost an incredible 13st 4lbs and is a slinky size 14, reports the Irish Mirror.

At 5ft 8in and almost 27st, her body mass index (BMI) was a shocking 57 - more than double the recommended range of 18.5 to 25.

The turning point for Trisha came in October 2011, when she began to suffer from terrifying heart palpitations that left her dizzy and gasping for breath.

In a bid to transform her body, Trisha joined her local Weight Watchers group and began a healthy eating plan that included plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

In her first week alone, she lost a massive 10lbs. Within 18 months, she had lost 5st.

After leaving Weight Watchers in April 2013, Trisha began to work out with a personal trainer five times a week.

Lifting weights and going for long walks ensured that she lost a further 8st 6lbs by September 2014 - taking her total weight loss to an incredible 13st 4lbs.

Now weighing in at 13st 7lbs, Trisha has dropped an amazing eight dress sizes and wears a svelte size 14.
