A specialist for German strawberries and a pioneer in Macedonia

The Thomas Schwarz Group consists of Thomas Schwarz Fruchtkontor GmbH, the Obsthof Schumann GmbH, Thomas Schwarz Food Logistics GmbH and DPTU Taurus Farms DOO. The company wanted to use the Fruit Logistica 2015 in Berlin to position themselves as an exhibitioner and make new business contacts for the future. Christoph Prenzler Sales Director at TSF Fruchtkontor GmbH reports: “The target we had is achieved. We are extremely happy with the fair. Everything worked pretty well. We made many important contacts and have already been able to complete some deals for the upcoming season.”

Thomas Schwarz Fruchtkontor: Focus on German production
The company Thomas Schwarz Fruchtkontor GmbH is responsible for the marketing of all products within the group. Due to a corporate restructuring in 2014, Thomas Schwarz Fruchtkontor was the new name for TSF Fruchtkontor. This step provided first of all a consistent corporate representation. According to Christoph Prenzler, the company, as an international fruit agency, has one target: "We want to provide the highest quality, maximum freshness and absolute customer satisfaction." In addition to the sales focus of German apples and pears from their own production in the German area Pfalz, the company markets German strawberries. "Strawberries from German production are our core business! We have strong partnerships with reputable producers. On the day of picking, our strawberries are loaded and transported directly to the customer with our own trucks. Our customers appreciate this service", says Christoph Prenzler. He also announces, that the group plans to grow further: "We want to open up new markets and distribution channels."

The largest organic cropping farm in South Eastern Europe
In 2010 the Group invested in Macedonia. Together with Taurus Farms, Thomas Schwarz Fruchtkontor built in the south of the Republic the largest organic cropping farm in South Eastern Europe. "On more than 360 hectares of cultivated acreage we harvest apples, pears and Hokkaido pumpkins. Further, we also harvest apricots and vegetables. We built an advanced apple orchard”, Prenzler says. By 2016, the company expects a harvest volume of 6,000 tons of apples. From Macedonia, TSF provides the German and European market with organic products. “The early harvest in Macedonia is our advantage. On average, we are able to harvest about two months earlier than in Germany and at least one month earlier than in Italy", the Sales Director describes, “During the coming years, we want to access systematic in overseas markets.”
