French Minister of Agriculture meets with producers

A “constructive and direct” conversation took place on the 18th February between Stéphane Le Foll, Luc Barbier, President of the National Federation of Fruit Producers and Jacques Rouchaussé, President of Légumes de France.

The Minister of Agriculture stated that this constructive conversation allowed professionals to underline their desire to re-boost their activities in 2015, as well as share the Minister of the sector’s concerns. These concerns included tension in commercial relationships and the decrease in use of phytosanitary products.

The two Presidents also confirmed their desire to maintain and consolidate actions from the Interproffessional Fruit and Vegetable Technical Centre.

As for treasury problems, a meeting occurred on the 19th February. This allowed the sector’s professionals to confirm their motivation to help relaunch production in 2015. It was agreed that all available tools would be used, making sure that difficult situations were identified on site with help from State services.
