Germany: cauliflower remains scarce and expensive

For several weeks now German consumers have been paying a lot for cauliflower, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) (Agricultural Market Information Company) on their website. In the main growing areas in France, Italy and Spain very little cauliflower is being harvested and there does not yet seem to be an end in sight to the high prices.

Therefore, German consumers are currently not buying very much cauliflower. In week 6 consumers had to pay 2.16 Euro for one cauliflower; this is 40% more than during the same week in 2014.
