EU: organic vegetable cultivation decreased further in 2013

In 2013 European growers grew organic products on more than 10 million acres of land. This is 5.9% of the total agricultural land within the EU, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) (Agricultural Market Information Company) on their website. Compared to the year previous (2012), the total organic vegetable growing area decreased by 1,500 acres, to 96,300 acres. The organic vegetable growing area reached 4.6% of the total vegetable growing area in the EU.
