Bioland grew in 2014

The German organic producers union Bioland grew in 2014, despite difficult general circumstances, reports website topagrar.com. The growth is even clearly stronger than average for all organic unions in Germany, stated the management of Bioland.

Almost one in two German organic companies organised into a growers union are now a member of Bioland. 123 companies joined in 2014, which means there are now 5,906 companies members of Bioland (+2.1%). The total Bioland area grew by 4,488 hectares to 285,762, an increase of 1.6%.
