SFG Dulce is the main branch of the Staay Food Group when it comes to the import of melons from Costa Rica. For 15 years, the Staay Food Group has had its own melon production here. These melons are marketed under the "Dulce" brand. The mild and dry climate of Costa Rica, particularly in comparison with the other producing countries, makes for a high-quality melon production.
In addition to the main varieties Water and Honey Dew melons, recent years also saw a good development in Galia and Cantaloupe melons, with sufficient available quantities. In recent years, SFG Dulce has invested heavily in production, and in conjunction with various seed suppliers, they have worked on increasing the varieties and bringing new melon varieties with good taste to the market.
But a good quality product also depends on the Quality Department and the employees involved in the region, of course, both of which are of a high standard here. The direct traceability from seed supply to selling the product is a big advantage of own production.
For the 2016 season, further steps will be taken to continually strive for a sustainable production.
