Germans now have more confidence in thier food

German consumer confidence, in the food available in Germany, has noticeably increased, reports the German website Proplanta.de. Researchers from TNS Infratest came to this conclusion on behalf of 'Die Lebensmittelwirtschaft' (The Food Industry).

Compared with last year, the index value rose seven points, from 39 to 46. "We are pleased that consumers are giving food a better score," says farmer Anneliese Göller about the study. 21% of the respondents rated the current reputation of food as 'very good' or 'excellent'. Last year that figure was 13%. Confidence in products is very important: according to the research, 64% of Germans 'definitely' or 'probably' trust German food. According to the research, one-fifth (19%) of consumers feel 'very well' or 'excellently' informed. Last year that percentage was at 12%. Where the 30-49 year old consumers are concerned, that percentage has grown from 13% to 26%.
