AU National Horticulture Convention announced

Two of the heaviest hitters in Australian horticulture are set to unite, with confirmation that AUSVEG and Apple and Pear Australia Ltd (APAL) will host a joint National Horticulture Convention on the Gold Coast in 2015.

The historic agreement will bring the most significant players in Australian horticulture together in the one location, and build on the tremendous success of previous AUSVEG National Conventions and APAL Conferences.

The AUSVEG and APAL hosted 2015 National Horticulture Convention will run from 25-27 June at Jupiters Gold Coast, and is already generating high levels of domestic and international interest. Trade show booths are over 60 per cent sold, and businesses are encouraged to act now and secure their spot.

This announcement follows on from the success of the 2014 AUSVEG National Convention in Cairns, which hosted over 1,100 domestic and international delegates.

AUSVEG and APAL are planning to up the ante this year, with the 2015 National Horticulture Convention promising to be a major success.

Previous AUSVEG Conventions have injected millions of dollars into their host city’s economy, and it is expected that the Gold Coast will reap even greater economic benefits from the AUSVEG and APAL hosted 2015 National Horticulture Convention.

For apple and pear growers
“Apple and pear growers will benefit from the bigger scale of the conference because a combined conference will result in a bigger trade show with more exhibitors, more high profile speakers, more visiting fresh produce importers, a grander awards night, plenty of diverse social events and there will be more delegates to interact with across the broader horticultural sector,” says APAL Chair Michele Allan.

“We will have a dedicated series of events, speakers and activities exclusively for apple and pear growers on topics of particular interest to our specialised industry. So if you’ve enjoyed APAL conferences in the past you will get everything you liked about our conference before, plus a whole lot more.”

In the apple and pear component of the program there will be research updates to share the latest ideas for orchard and pack house management. Plus APAL’s AGM and Key Stakeholders Roundtable will be held.
