Courgette prices up 30% in France

According to the Relaxnews national price barometer of fresh products, the price per kilo of courgettes has increased by 30% to €2.88/kilo in net bags. Courgettes are the fresh product with the highest price increase this week. Tomatoes have also seen prices increase this week, by 19% for Spanish varieties (€2.36/kilo 57-67mm) and 15% for Moroccan varieties (€1.96/kilo, 57-67mm). However the price of yellow onions has decreased by 9% to €1.42/kilo.

The Relaxnews price barometer is made every Wednesday using information from the Market News Service, under the Ministry of Agriculture. Every week 20 or so SNM employees record the retail prices of 150 products (fruit, vegetable, meat, fish…) in 150 medium and large supermarkets all over France (a representative sample household).
