Greenhouses to be heated by wood

On Monday evening elected officials in Vire agreed to install a wood heater in the garden service greenhouses.

They have made €1.159 million available to carry out the project, whilst waiting for a budget vote that is planned for April 2015.

The installation of a wood heater will replace the gas system, “we are making a bet on the future. By favouring a local and renewable energy we are showing our commitment to respecting the environment,” says the Mayor, Marc Andreu Sabater.

The investment is estimated at €320,000. The commune expects a return on investment over 10 years and a 40% reduction in energy consumption.
