Teboza brings Wild Asparagus to Fruit Logistica

For a few years now Teboza has been executing tests in Andalusia (near Jerez de la Frontera) by using different varieties and cultivation techniques to ensure that European asparagus stays fresh longer as an alternative to asparagus that is brought from outside the EU. Parallel to this project, another project has also been set up: Europe's first professional production of Wild Asparagus (Asparagus acutifolius and maritimus).

This 'wild asparagus' only grows in Mediterranean climates, doing best under trees and in places where the plant feels at home. Wild asparagus has a much stronger and more intense taste than the asparagus that we know; Asparagus Officinalis. At the Fruit Logistica trade show in Berlin (4-6 February, 2015) Teboza will introduce the Wild Asparagus along with a wide assortment of white and green asparagus which are grown in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.
