Germany: consumption potato market noticeably calm

The German consumption potato market is extraordinarily calm for the start of this year, reports the 'Agrarisches Informationszentrum'. The food trade is ordering few wares at the moment, as stocks from the Christmas period remain on the shelves.

There are also few new impulses in export. The export to Eastern Europe is suffering from the winter temperatures in target countries. The supply of good quality consumption potatoes remains great though, and the growers' prices are stable at the same level as last week.
