UK: B38 range of punnets can now be top sealed

Associated Packaging (ILIP UK) have been working in conjunction with Packaging
Automation to create a new tooling mechanism and are pleased to announce that the B38 range of punnets can now be top sealed.

Previously a wider flange and heavier punnet would have been required to support the seal.

However the new tooling equipment with its precise and accurate measurements heralds ground breaking technology to combat these issues thus removing the need to use wide flanges.

Packaging Automation have been able to achieve this advantage using their new innovative low energy seal station on the Revolution tray sealer. Whereby the seal force has been increased by up to 300% giving the desired seal compared to the standard pneumatic systems currently available.

Adam Buckland, Managing Director of Associated Packaging (ILIP UK) commented “This is an exciting development for us as it now allows standard ILIP punnets to be used with the latest top-seal technology at a price point not previously available. This provides improved product clarity with tangible savings on both punnet and film costs”.
