Germany: Wholesale fruit & veg prices 6.3% lower

Sale prices in the German wholesale market were 1.1% lower in November 2014 than in November 2013, according to figures from the German Statistical Office ( Destatis ). In October 2014, prices were 0.7% lower than in September 2014, and 0.9% lower than the same month the previous year.

Compared to the previous month in October 2014, wholesale products were 0.7 % cheaper. Substantial price cuts were mostly seen in the fruit and vegetable sector. Between November 2013 and November 2014, fruit and vegetable prices fell by by 6.3% and by 2.6% between October and November 2014.
