US: Imported blueberry prices could decrease
“I think there will be a week or two of decent blueberry prices before volumes from Chile build up and prices come down,” said Nick Osmulski from North Bay Produce. Supplies from Mexico could also contribute to lower prices, though Mexican raspberries will likely increase in price.
“California is finishing up their volumes of raspberries, so Mexico will be the only game in town by mid-December,” explained Nick Osmulski. “Prices will go up.” Blackberry prices have remained steady, but they could, like blueberry prices, decrease later this month when more Mexican supplies arrive.
“It's like the different berry markets are going in different directions,” said Nick Osmulski. “The blueberry market will go down, the raspberry market will go up and the blackberry market will be relatively steady.”
