Metro Group buys shares in Emmas Enkel

The German Metro Group bought a 15% stake in the start-up 'Emmas Enkel', reports the German website markenartikel-magazin.de. Metro wants to support the course of events and the continued growth of the new trading company throughout Germany. There is a plan to, among other things, intensify the expansion in Germany and expand delivery from all locations using Metro's subsidiary, Real.

Emmas Enkel connects traditional style grocery shopping, in which you would go to the little shop on the corner, with the online market. Right now they have two stores in Dusseldorf and Essen. Customers can pick up their orders in the store, or the food delivery service can deliver your order to your house if you live in Dusseldorf, Essen or the Ruhr region.
