Delassus Group expands packing house

In recent months, Delassus Group invested in the modernization of its packinghouse Packsouss located in the heart of citrus production, Agadir. Packsouss 2.0 as the employees like to call it now, was the subject of wide expansion and modernization program that led to the installation of new packaging chains and high-end equipment: high-tech grader, upgraded infrastructure, new cold storage, reception area and canteen, over an area of 15,000 m2.

This upgrade makes it possible to better meet customer expectations, to adopt the principles of "forward movement" while improving the working conditions of workers, as well as highlighting the skills of citrus growers.

All works and transformations have been done under Lean Management system, which Packsouss introduced since last year. Lean management is an approach to running an organization that supports the concept of continuous improvement; a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality. Labour as well of all staff level participated jointly in submitting ideas for improvement that were implemented in Packsouss.

The new Packsouss has been launched on December 4, 2014. The event has been a complete success. Mr Mohamed Bennani Smires (founder of the group) as well as Mr Kacem Bennani Smires (chairman) were proud of Mr.Khalid Bounejma (Packsouss director) achievements.

Old and new Packsouss were presented to Delassus Group’ staff and growers, led by the employees who themselves played the guides and answered many questions.
Packsouss counts among its customers Marks & Spenser, Sainsburry, Morrisons, Aldi, Carrefour, System U, X5, Dixi, Magnit and many others. It is BRC certified and can pack and export 200 tonnes per day.
