"Fits well with healthy image fresh produce sector"

Recyclable, compostable healthy beast

At Interpom Primeurs 2014, the ACE Packaging company introduced the healthy beast packaging line, which is recyclable and compostable. The line includes paper bags for fruit and vegetables, which is to inspire people to eat healthier. The bags give all sorts of healthy tips and recipes in a notable, fun way.

Healthy message with hip look
The healthy beast packaging line brings a healthy message with a hip look. Dave Stappaerts says: "What goes in is healthy, but the paper bag itself is healthy too. Since this year, it's OK compost home certified by AIB Vincotte, meaning it can go on the compost heap in the garden or with the waste paper, making it a world first. We've added the 'Compy' brand name to the concept, so the compostable aspect is recognizable."

The POS support. These pears are 'in season'

In addition to the bags, healthy beast also gives the necessary POS support. "For instance, we supply signs the shopkeeper can put next to new or seasonal products to help the consumer make a conscious decision for a domestic, seasonal product. That way they can exactly see which products are 'in season' and not manipulated," Dave says. "At the moment we supply our bags mainly to supermarkets, but we would also like to service the fresh produce sector. The concept is ideal for fruit and veg specialists, for instance. People can then see that they're working sustainably. And of course it also fits the healthy image of fresh produce. Another big advantage is: many environmentally friendly packagings are prohibitively expensive, while the healthy beast is friendly for both environment and budget."

Ace Packaging (Apagro, Corne and Eurozak) is a European producer of paper packaging and total supplier with over 5000 different packaging products. With this concept they service fresh produce as well as other sectors, such as bakeries.
