Imported Iranian and Israeli potatoes on German market

During the first few weeks of November there were no noteworthy changes in the prices of potatoes in the European area from Russia to Ukraine. According to the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) (Agricultural Market Information Services) the relatively high demands were held up in Russia; therefore demand stayed high. However, higher prices of potatoes can only be reached one way. Currently, growers prices fluctuate between 19.00 and 23.00 Euro per 100 kg. Potatoes from Iran and Israel are also up for offer, on the wholesale market these potatoes are going for 47.00 to 62.00 Euro per 100 kg. Prices in Ukraine are low, but stable. Growers receive 9.00 to 10.00 Euro per kg. 'Fruit-Inform' attributes the low prices to the large supply of poor quality products that must be sold quickly. In the short term (and longer) not much will change.
