Netto Marken-Discount starts using new dc

Last Tuesday in the German municipality of Ganderkesee (in the state of Niedersachsen) Netto Marken-Discount opened a new logistics centre, reports the German website nwzonline.de. The 70 invited guests were clearly impressed by the results: you could fit 30 Brandenburg Gates in the building. 3500 items are stored in the warehouse and 350 jobs have been created.

After a record building time of eight months and one week, the 16 meter high logistics centre offers a 40,000 square meter storage room. The building has a volume of 540,000 square meters. Starting November 17th 200 Netto-branches in Northwestern Germany (from Cuxhaven to Osnabrück) will be supplied goods from this logistics centre. Looking at the long-term picture, this logistics centre will have the capacity to supply 250 branches.
