Europlant generates € 131.4 million turnover

Europlant, the German grower and marketer of seeding potatoes can look back at a successful fiscal year for 2013/14, reports the German website Proplanta.de. Europe made a consolidated annual turnover of 131.4 million Euro with its 13 subsidiaries. This means an increase in turnover of 16 percent compared to the previous year. The globally sold amount of seeding potatoes increased by six percent to 212,000 tonnes. The company was able to sell 133,000 tonnes in Germany.

The medium late start potato Eurogrande NN Pa belonged to the most successful varieties from the Europlant portfolio. It is characterised by a high resistance and tolerance against nematodes and above average resistance to cancer. The predominately waxy potato Madeira with its light yellow to yellow flesh belonged to the best sold varieties.
