Ronald Jegen, Frigo Trans France:

"Extending the group line service in Paris over the next while"

On the 1st of January this year logistics service provider Frigo trans France started from the Transtolk location at Coldenhove in Maasdijk. The company's focus is on conditioned transport from and to France, both flowers and plants and fruit and vegetables. "Over the next while we want to extend the group line service to Paris for the whole fruit and vegetable sector," says director Ronald Jegen.

According to the logistic service supplier their focus on Paris is logical. "The large importers are all in Paris. We go through the whole of France with the flowers and plants. We recently got another large customer and we have a lot of plant offers on for the next few weeks," says Ronald. "We take the entire French fruit and vegetable package back to Holland on our way back, from apples and peaches to leek and cauliflower in the winter."

The volumes of fruits and vegetables being exported from the Netherlands to France are reasonable stable, according to the logistics service supplier. "You can see that more overseas fruit is going straight to France or through ships from Antwerp and Rotterdam to Le Havre." He doesn't see the presence of local product as a threat. "The French are chauvinistic. If they can buy a French product they always will."

Ronald has a lot of faith in Frigo Trans France's future. "I personally have the impression that the crisis came to France a little later, but has been hit harder over the last two years. We want to define ourselves with a advantageous price and by listening to the customer and looking for solutions together."
