Citrus importer Dick Aaldijk is celebrating two milestones today: his 75th birthday and 50 years in the business this year. Although Dick is slowly reducing his workload, you can still find him at Origin Fruit Direct a few days a week. He leaves the day to day trading to other people, but still has contact with suppliers and customers.

Dick started his long career in fruit import in the 60's at the Internationale Fruitmaatschappij, one of the importers who founded the citrus auction. He then worked at the Rottekade, Westersingel and later in the Marconistraat. First at Interfruit and then through takeovers at Velleman & Tas and Fyffes / Total Produce. Nine years ago he followed his son Randolf, who founded Origin Fruit Direct.
