WHS and WorkCover special focus of this year’s Workplace Essentials Seminars
An overview of Workplace Health and Safety laws will be followed by a session on WorkCover to assist growers to understand their obligations and to explore ways to steamline the processes, minimise disruption and staff absences, and reduce premiums.
Also on the agenda will be a presentation on the pilot Live Well Farm Well project, an initiative being rolled out by Growcom and Diabetes Queensland in the Cassowary Coast region, focusing on practical ways rural workplaces can achieve simple health improvements to reduce the risk of chronic disease. Other items include a discussion about Super Stream and an update on superannuation from AustSafe Super.
