Successful sponsor run for Driscoll's and Safegroup
Last Sunday more than 10,000 participants lined up at the start of the 5 and 10 kilometre runs of the Singelloop in Breda in the Netherlands. Among them were 115 runners from Driscoll’s and Safegroup. They joined the run to collect money for the shelter and support centre Valkenhorst. At this Safegroup location, women and children who suffer from domestic violence are able to find housing and assistance for a longer period of time.
For each runner, berry company Driscoll’s sponsored 100 Euro. This amount grew even higher with the help of personal donations and donations of Driscoll’s customers. With the money that is raised, Safegroup wants to achieve a garden, so the women and children of Valkenhorst will have a safe place to play and relax. Last year the employees of Driscoll’s also participated in the Singelloop for the foundation Happy Hippo and raised more than 16,000 Euro. The amount of money that will be donated this year will be announced soon.
