ILIP increases its presence in Spain, and will be exhibiting at Fruit attraction

The Bologna-based company will be exhibiting in Madrid (hall 7 / stand 7B11). Over the past year, the company's new commercial strategy has allowed it to increase its penetration within the Spanish market.

ILIP is increasing its presence in Spain, which represents the main export market for its products by volume. It is on the heels of this achievement that ILIP, a leading company in the field of thermoformed plastic packaging for fresh produce, arrives at the Fruit Attraction event: the international trade fair dedicated to fresh produce, which will be held in Madrid from 15 to 17 October (Hall 7 / stand 7B11).

ILIP's participation at the fair in Madrid for the third consecutive year marks the culmination of its new sales strategy in Spain, which was launched in July of 2013. This strategy is dedicated to ensuring a direct relationship with the customer, and is aimed at strengthening the company's position on the Iberian Peninsula's fresh produce market. This has led to the company's widespread presence throughout the country.

"We are particularly pleased with the results obtained from this new strategic approach", explains Mauro Stipa, ILIP's Fresh Produce Packaging Export Sales Manager. "We have increased our market share in Spain, and thanks to our ability to meet the customers' demands, we have now become a leading supplier of packaging for the fresh produce sector."

In addition to meeting with customers and operators from the fresh produce sector, Fruit Attraction will also serve as an opportunity to reflect on sustainability: an area in which ILIP was among the first pioneers. In fact, the Bologna-based company was the industry's first to adhere to the Save Food initiative, which was launched by FAO, Messe Düsseldorf and Interpack to help resolve the problem of food waste. FAO estimates that approximately one third of food products worldwide are lost along the supply chain. According to the "Food Wastage Footprint" report, the total amount of food that goes to waste is equal to approximately 3.3 billion tons of CO2. The solutions to this problem also depend upon packaging innovation, which represents a fundamental tool for ensuring the safe transport of the products themselves, while at the same time providing solutions aimed at improving the management of logistics and distribution.

In terms of materials, ILPA group, for which ILIP operates as a leading division, is the only European company in its sector to have vertically integrated its production cycle with PET recycling, which involves the recycling of post-consumer bottles and the production of new food packaging products made from r-PET.
The Ferrara-based company AMP Recycling, a subsidiary of I.L.P.A. Group, will also be co-exhibiting in Madrid alongside ILIP, with the aim of introducing its product portfolio to companies operating in the horticultural sector.
