Celebrating 10 year anniversary

Frischezentrum (Freshness center) Frankfurt organizes 'Frische-Erlebnis-Tag' ('Fresh Adventure Day')

From eggplants and zucchini to fresh herbs, apples and kiwi's: in the 'Frischezentrum Frankfurt' (Freshness Center Frankfurt), the most important trans-shipment point for fresh food in the German state of Hessen, all different kinds of food is purchased for retailers, market traders, restaurants and canteens. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Frischezentrum there will be a 'Frishce-Erlebnis-Tag' (Fresh Adventure Day') on September 28 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The German website Gabot.de says the largest ratatouille in Hessen will be cooked and the largest fruit salad will be made on this big day.

Wholesalers, importers and growers from this area will have the chance to see behind the scenes of this large marketplace, they will also be able to directly purchase goods. Along with that there will also be a busy program with music, shows and activities for children. This is where the largest ratatouille and fruit salad will be made. This is supported by Frischezentrum Frankfurt traders, who are doing it for free so the money can go to charity. Meikel Pedrana, a famous TV cook, will lead the making of these two dishes, after which everyone can taste them. Adolf Kannengießer, director of the Frischezentrum Frankfurt, hopes to raise money during this celebration for the children's hospital Bärenherz.
