Frieda's winter squashes now available

Frieda’s Specialty Produce wants to help you get ahead of your fall sales with a variety of hard-shelled winter squashes like the well-known Butternut and the foodie’s darling Delicata.

An excellent source of vitamins A and C, winter squashes are easy for shoppers to prepare for a one-dish meal: simply halve or quarter the squash, scoop out the seeds, and roast, bake, or steam—on the stove top or in the microwave—with skin on.

A variety squash display is perfect for the fall, adding a rustic and bountiful feel to produce departments. Add signage to show shoppers that these squashes are “totally edible!” Halve and over wrap a few squashes to highlight the attractive contrast between skin colour and vibrant golden flesh colour.
