Quality counts at Asia's top trade show

As Asia Fruit Logistica prepare to open its doors at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, trade visitors and exhibitors can be assured of a show of unparalleled quality, according to organiser Global Produce Events (GPE).

Asia Fruit Logistica is on course for another record year, with around 7,000 industry professionals set to attend an exhibition that has expanded by some 25 per cent on last year’s event. More than 460 exhibitors from 38 different countries are ready to showcase their products and services at the trade fair on 3-5 September.

GPE’s managing director, Gérald Lamusse, says it is the quality of Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Congress that is propelling the combined event’s growth.

“What makes Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Congress special is the quality in all aspects: the content, speakers and delegates at Asiafruit Congress; the visitors and exhibitors at Asia Fruit Logistica; and the event organisation,” says Lamusse. “That is what has attracted so many new exhibitors to this year’s edition, and it’s what is drawing so many visitors.”

Asia Fruit Awards: network with the best
Asiafruit Congress concludes with the presentation of the Asia Fruit Awards, the unique pan-Asian awards for Asia’s fresh produce business presented by Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Magazine. The winners receive their awards before the joint Asiafruit Congress-Asia Fruit Logistica Welcome Reception on 2 September. It’s a gala cocktail event not to be missed and a unique opportunity to network with the industry’s key decision makers.

Asia Fruit Logistica: do business with the best
Asia Fruit Logistica then opens its doors on 3-5 September, giving visitors and exhibitors ample time to do business between 10:00-17:00hrs daily.

“Asia Fruit Logistica is the most professional trade show in Asia for fresh produce,” says Marc Peyres of French grower-shipper Blue Whale, which exhibits every year. “It offers us the unique opportunity to meet all our customers from over ten different countries, as well as potential new clients. It is just the right size to see lots of things but have time with every customer without having to rush.”

A record 6,536 buyers and trade visitors from 64 nations attended Asia Fruit Logistica 2013. Visitor survey results again underlined the high quality of the attendees, with 89 per cent of them being closely involved in their companies’ purchasing and decision-making processes.

A host of companies are exhibiting for the first time at Asia Fruit Logistica 2014 from all over the world, including leading industry players such as Mr Apple, Naturipe Farms, Banabay and CoolFresh International. View the list of exhibitors online.

Senior executives and buyers from a number of Asia’s leading food retailers are signed up to attend Asiafruit Congress and Asia Fruit Logistica, including Central Food Retail (Thailand), Dairy Farm (Hong Kong), Metro Group (China), NTUC Fairprice (Singapore), ParknShop (Hong Kong) and Walmart China. A delegation of Indonesia’s finest produce retailers, including All Fresh, Ranch Market and The Food Hall, are also making the trip to the event.

In addition to the marketing and networking opportunities at Asia Fruit Logistica, visitors can attend the Asiafruit Business Forum, which features two information sessions per day on the show floor. View the full programme online.
